I always thought I would be happy when I reached certain goals. Now I just reach for the next one. Are others like that?

In brief: Yes
Many others are like that.
Our society trains us to reach for bigger and better and when we reach one goal it is not as satisfying as we thought....So we look to another...Recognize the pattern and learn to be happier with yourself, who you are, and what you have to offer. Basically it is a form of insecurity and you are not alone. Nor does it mean it is pathologic..Just something to recognize.
