In brief: Minimally invasive

options only give minimal results.
It is generally safe but the results are really minimal. Some clinicians require that you do a substantial number of treatments and even combine them with diets. When this is the case, it makes one wonder whether the perceived improvement is more due to the diet than the fat freeze procedure. If you want definitive results nothing beats liposuction.

Each treatment will get you about 20% reduction in the fat layer. Good results depends on good patient selection. Patients who are significantly overweight will not get enough reduction to give them a satisfying result. Diet and exercise will better any result from any procedure. Lipo will definitely give a more impressive result, but for completely noninvasive nothing beats cool sculpting.

In brief: Coolsculpting

It is safe and dad approved.
Our office has done near 1000 applications and the majority of patients have a little numbers or tingling in their abdomen or flanks for a few weeks after the procedure that will eventually dissapate. We have have never seen any complications in our office but the most important part is the application of the skin protector and the suction head of the device. Critical

In brief: Yes

If administered by a knowledgeable practitioner this is typically a safe procedure although I have heard of some excessive responders.
The number of treatments depends on the amount and location of localized fat as well as the response to early treatments.

In brief: Not liposuction!

Coolsculpting won't give you the same results as liposuction, but it also doesn't require an operation with general anesthesia.
Coolsculpting is helpful for treating areas of fat that don't respond to exercise - like a belly "pooch" or "bingo arms." Remember that two treatments are more effective than one. Get a consultation to see if this is for you. LGromkoMD

In brief: Yes and Yes

CoolSculpting results in approx 20% reduction in the fat with each treatment.
It is very safe, the most common adverse events are bruising and mild pain. I have seen just a couple of patients with more severe pain afterward, but it's rare. Best results come with 2 treatments to each area. For more on CoolSculpting see: http://www.omahacosmeticsurgery.com/non-surgical-procedures/coolsculpting/
