I woke up this morning with one eye swollen and itchy. Do you think something bit me?

In brief: A bite or particle
Sudden itching and swelling of one eye is almost always caused by contact with an irritant or allergen.
If you see evidence of a bite on the skin, or a particle or insect inside your eye, then you know the cause, but more often than not we cannot figure out the cause. A cool or ice compress should help. Allergens include plant or animal particles on the hands, or even new laundry soap.
