In brief: Pathological liar

Also called pseudologia fantastica, is habitual or compulsive lying act which occurs over years, occuring in 1:1, 000 & onset around age 16.
It is not delusional, since the stories told have some element of truth in them, and when confronted, the liar admits they are false. The motive for lying is internal, and the lies tend to present the person favorably such as bravery. Tx is psychotherapy.
