Is organic food worth the price? What about filtered water? Just hype?

In brief: Maybe

Organic food, if truly organic (no pesticides, no fertilizers, compost only for the soil) may have slightly less toxins but regulation is poor in this arena and some organic foods have higher bacterial counts and debris like insect body parts, etc.
Most municipal water is pure while bottled water is not standardized and probably is municipal water anyway. Filtering just removes solids, not toxins.

In brief: It's about values

For some, yes, food is worth the price.
Prefer sustainable agriculture, smaller carbon footprint, don't like being part of experiment. Modern farming methods, reliant on monoculture (one crop across large areas) need more pesticides. Filtered water mostly hype unless it filters out the increasing amount of pharmaceuticals showing up in municipal water systems. Spring water best, if u kno source.
