Psychological conditions that a lot of doctors might be suffering from in times of crisis (economy, general day to day, overwhelmed, procrastination)?

Physician stress. You're correct that many physicians are stressed these days. One recent study showed that 45.8% of physicians showed at least 1 symptom of burnout -- highest rates being in family medicine, primary care internal medicine, and emergency medicine. having treated hundreds of my colleagues, i feel that additional methods such as mindfulness training can be lifesaving.
Hard times. Yes, circumstances can often reveal weak spots in our adjustment that otherwise function well enough. Especially if it all turns out well, these can be looked back on as silver linings in life's clouds. They can prompt one to get help with strengthening those spots - fixing those flaws so that future hard times go easier. Counseling is often helpful for such emotional maintenance/prevention work.
