Silly question i'm sure, but does the use of a cpap machine help increase lung capacity? Endurance?

In brief: No

Logical question, but sorry - CPAP won't increase your lung capacity nor endurance, if it did every elite athlete would own one! ;-) exercise is the safest and healthiest.
Talk with your sports medicine doctor to get an "exercise prescription".
