Do some people just have a "weak immune system" and catch more colds, flus, etc...?

Opposite is true. This may seem backwards, but it is our own immune system that determines how sick we get with a cold or flu. Interesting study was done on people who "never get sick" and people who "always get sick". Both were infected with cold viruses and the people who "never got sick" didn't get sick even with virus in them. Some immune systems are over-enthusiastic and make you sicker than need be...

Is the cambridge diet safe when you are ill with flu and laryngitis and have very weak immune system? Is it ok to not eat proper food?

No. Ask your own doctor first. But i'd recommend caution with any diet plan that relies on "replacement" food from one company. It's never "ok to not eat proper food, " as it isn't sustainable without continuing to buy company food. The foods may have various nutrients, but with the flu you may not be able to stomach such processed products. Why not learn how to cook & eat healthily instead? Read more...

Is fever after every vaccintaion normal? Does it signal a weak immune system? I'm concerned because my son always seems to get one after a shot.

Depends on vaccine. Not all vaccines cause fever, some more likely than others. For example the Dtap vaccine and the VZV and MMR vaccines which are live vaccines are more likely to have a fever associated with them. It does not signal a weak immune system, in fact it most likely means the pt's immune response to the vaccine is good. Treat the fever for its uncomfortable symptoms. Read more...

I think I have a weak immune system because I catch colds easily. Do I have a higher risk for cancer?

Not necessarily. Your immune system is probably quite normal. Many people are susceptible to colds without having immune deficiency. It is not likely that you are at increased risk for cancer. You should practice the usual preventive measures, i.e., do not use tobacco, maintain healthy weight, and do not drink or keep it to fewer than a drink a day. Read more...
No. Unless you really have an impaired immune system such as hiv, cvid, hypogamaglobulinemia, catching colds dose not translate to an increased risk of cancer. Read more...
