In brief: Tubal Ligation

Essure is permanent birth control.
A hysteroscopei is placed through the vagina into the uterus. Microinserts are placed into the tubal openings. Over the next 3 months tissue grows around the inserts and blocks the tubes, you need to use birth contro till you have a test{hsg} 3 months later to confirm tubal closure. Procedure is incisionless, done under local anesthesia with minimal/no down time.

In brief: Female Sterilization

Essure has been out since 2002.
It is a form of female permanent birth control that does not require an incision, and has faster recovery. A small camera is inserted into the uterus through the cervix. There is no cutting. Then, small inserts are placed inside each tube to create a natural barrier to sperm. That process occurs over 12 weeks. It seems to have the lowest failure rate overall.

In brief: Blocks tubes

Two metal coils inserted in the fallopian tubes during hysteroscopy.
The center coil material causes the tube to be blocked shut creating permanent contraception.

In brief: Perm birth control

Essure are non-hormonal implants that are placed with the assistance of a long thin camera through the cervix (hysteroscopy).
It's easily done in the office with no gen anesthesia, no incisions, & little to no pain. 3 months later, a dye test with x-ray confirm good placement and perm blockage. It's success rate is above traditional tubal ligation & much easier to do. Check the link on my website.
