I was diagnosed with hallux rigidus in my big toe. I've been told that i'm too young. How does age factor into this?

1 doctor agrees

In brief: Rigidus

It is not so much age as the mileage and predisposing factors - arthritis , the jamming of the joint , biomechanics .
Seek a second opinion if it will make you feel better.

I agree ... Other factors play a large role. From the look of the X-rays, this is really severe. Should be evaluated fairly quickly is there are any chances of treating thus conservatively. I suspect any conservative treatments for the photo will be unsuccessful as the joint is severely damaged
