In brief: Avoidance

If you know someone is infected then special precautions like wearing a high efficiency well fitting mask is the way to go.
Unfortunately, in practical terms, there is little you can do to avoid getting it. It is transmitted by airborne droplets. Avoid people who are coughing. In areas where TB rates are high, BCG vaccination is an option.

Check with your doc.
There is actually no way unless there is somebody in your family with untreated tb.

The best way to avoid TB (aside from avoiding being around people with TB) is to get TB tests periodically to find out whether you have latent TB. If you do, treatment of the latent TB can prevent development of disease.
