Could you explain what is a colposcopy and does it hurt?

In brief: Not very painful

It's VERY important to get a colposcopy if your pap is abnormal.
A colposcopy is a speculum exam where special stains and magnifying lenses are used to look for pre-cancers on your cervix. If there are abnormalities, your GYN will take a biopsy, which is uncomfortable, but lasts

In brief: Cervical exam

Examination of the cervix using an instrument that looks like a pair of binoculars done after washing the cervix with a dilute vinegar-like solution to cause abnormal cells to become more visible.
Colposcopy itself does not hurt. It is sort of like a long pap smear. However, at the time of colposcopy, the doctor may take a biopsy of an abnormal looking area, which may cause a brief pinching.
