In brief: Possibly
Ingestion of large amount of any bacteria can cause diarrhea, staphylococcus included.
However, this organism is usually found on the skin and tends to infect that area with boils and pimples.

In brief: Toxin food poison
Staphylococcus is ubiquitous; it is all over, normally lives on skin, etc.
Some strains make a tasteless, heat resitant toxin (not destroyed by cooking) that can cause a food poisoning assoc w/fever, lots of vomiting, diarrhea; starts 1/2-8h after ingestion; lasts 24-48h. Won't cause abscess (pus pocket), skin infections, etc from eating it, but can make you miserable, dehydrated.
