There are many possible causes, most of which are easily managed and not dangerous. But please see a doctor and make sure you don't have one of the few that are.

Many things can cause pain the the anus. Most common causes are: 1.- Thrombosed external hemorrhoids 2.- Fissures 3.- Perianal abscess 4.- Less likely anorectal tumors Best thing to do is to get it check by a proctologist. Go to www.fascrs.org and locate a colorectal surgeon near you. All best!
