My question for you is I had surgery on my lower backit didn't heal until 2 months after the doctor put drains in can scar tissue be broken up?

Yes and No. Scar tissue breaks up on its own or requires further intervention. Typically the drains don't have much to do with the scar tissue. My assumption is drains were placed to reduce a collection of fluid. Many times people develop a seroma after surgery and if it doesn't resolve or reabsorb the drains can help reduce it.
