In brief: Switching toothpaste

Some people are sensitive to certain types of toothpastes.
Try switching to toothpastes that do not contain sodium lauryl sulfate (sls), such as sensodyne toothpaste. It should heal in a few days.

In brief: See dentist

There is a definite problem with your gums.
Stop using any toothpaste. Rinse with warm salt water several times a day; if salt addition burns, then just warm water. Peeling gums: this would mean gums are very unhealthy. Could be a vitamin deficiency from poor diet, improper chewing, improper brushing. In any case, get ye to a good general dentist.
