In brief: Depends
If the chip is only into the enamel he should have no problems with it other than possibly being sharp to his soft tissue.
If the tooth is broken to the nerve then you would probably notice blood oozing from the tooth, then he would need it checked. Best to have a dentist look at it either way. Nosebleed is possible soft tissue injury. Probably should have that checked if you think it is serious.

If there was no loss of consciousness & the teeth all fit together then see your dentist at earliest convenience or go to an er, as most have dentists who can see him. If there was loc or jaws fit differently, go to er immediately.

Bleeding from the nose try ice on it and if it is from one side only keep preesure with your finger till the bleeding stop.If bleeding stop just observe and let your doctor check next day.
