In brief: Irritated uterus

I would say that the most common cause of painful menses is an irritated uterus that spasms.
..This can be secondary to getting older; to a thickening called adenomyosis; or to other pathology. I would always reccomend follow-up with your gyn and see if he reccomended meds and or surgery like laparoscopy.
