In brief: Whay wait?
Might as well do it now- i dont think any major change in technology is coming soon.

Most studies reflect average age of 34 with the range of 21-52 years of age. I think most labelings require our patients to be 18 or older. I believe in stability of your prescription glasses or contact lenses. If your prescription has not changed over the last three years, you may be considered stable. Remember beyond age 40, you may face presbyopia which wil make you require reading glasses.

In brief: Depends
If you prescription is stable, then getting it now is fine.
If your prescription is not stable, then waiting may be prudent.
