In brief: Very likely
Dry mouth, or xerostomia, can have many different causes.
Many medications and cancer treatments have dry mouth as a side effect, as do certain medical conditions. If you are a mouth breather, you are also more likely to have dry mouth. This increases your risk for tooth decay, gingivitis, and bad breath. See your dentist for a consultation.

In brief: Maybe
It is possible that your mouth is not dry, but just feels too dry.
This can be a neurological issue. It is possible that it really is too dry due to a malfunction of the glands, a blockage of the ducts, or a side effect of medications. Certain syndromes can also cause this. First see your md to confirm, then your dentist to help manage the associated problems. Special rinses and Fluoride is good.
