In brief: ITCHING UNDER CAST
This is a tough and difficult dilemma.
As starters, don't wet the cast. If it's an arm or a leg, allow air to get into the space between the cast and the skin. There is a "cold cast spray" that you may try. Some baby powders afford relief. Best luck to you.

In brief: Cast itching
Whatever you do, place nothing inside the cast to reach that itch! i recommend to patients to gently tap over the itch on the outside of the cast.
Another suggestion is to turn your attention to something else.
