I have such trouble falling asleep at night. What if I do sit-ups and push-ups before bed?

In brief: Exercise early!
It is better to exercise earlier in the day, particularly before supper. This will help promote sleep.
If you exercise before going to bed, your adrenergic system will be aroused, your body's metabolic rate will be heightened. All of these will interfere with deep, restful sleep! also, do not eat before going to sleep.

It is too stimulating to exercise right before bed.
Sleep Hygiene is Key. Retire & rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark & cool & use only for sex & sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs & no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate sized & finish at least 2 to 3 hrs before sleep. Can try warm milk, Chamomile tea or>
