In brief: Hair growth
In plain language it means male-pattern hair growth on the face, neck, chest, or abdomen.
It refers to a female and is not related to hair on the scalp. Most cases are due to polycystic ovarian syndrome or are called idiopathic hirsutism. A smaller number are from other causes, including tumors. It must be distinguished from a condition called hypertrichosis.

In brief: Hirsutism
Excessive hair growth in women.
It is usually caused by hyperandrogenism ie too many "male" hormones. All women have androgens which cause pubic hair, body odor, axillary hair, acne, and oily skin. If excessive, hirsutism occurs.
