In brief: Risk versus benefit

We would ideally like to avoid all medications in people who are pregnant.
If the benefit is necessary, corticosteroids can be used in people. This can be done safely in people but interestingly not in certain animals. If you need to take corticosteroids then it is safe with pregnancy. We always are cautious with the use of corticosteroids in anybody pregnant or otherwise.
