Is it possible for you to get laser eye surgery if you have astigmatism and nastagmuss?

Lasik. Astigmatism is easy, that means the eye is shaped like a football and not a basketball.. Nystagmus, if is mild can be tracked by the eye tracker on the laser. For more severe nystagmus, I have stabilized the eye with a forcep and tracked the eye without the tracker. The results were good. Nystagmus is a intermittent or continuous swinging of the eyes.

Yes, generally. So long as you're a good candidate (which will be determined from your per-surgical testing & exam) you will likely have excellent results including correction of most cases of astigmatism. The results will probably last into you 40's when some degree of presbyopia (trouble with near focusing) will start. Discuss the specifics of your situation with your ophthalmologist. Read more...
