In brief: Will not help

Your lesions might be due to head injury smoking, hypertension, or migraine but could also be RIS, an early sign of MS.
PET WON't dfferentiate but spinal tap or repeat MRI both brain and neck in 6 months might be considered

In brief: Brain PET...

There are several tracers which can be used with pet.
The most common is FDG (glucose). There is normally high glucose utilization in the brain making brain evaluation difficult. Brain pet can be helpful in assessing tumor grade, evaluating for dementia, and mapping seizure foci. Not sure what additional information it will provide in your case.
