It's most important to get great calcium in your diet if possible and avoid supplements.
Recent evidence has shown that taking increased amounts of calcium don't necessarily help, and can lead to conditions such as kidney stones. 1000mg or so of calcium and 600-800 of vitamin d are common amounts recommended. But as i said, best is to get in diet. Look on-line for calcium rich foods.
