Or lazy eye occurs when one eye cannot be corrected to as good a vision level as the other, but there are no structural abnormalities present.
Amblyopia is most commonly due to eye misalignment or a large difference in refractive error (glasses need) between the two eyes. There are no special contact lenses to correct this, and amblyopia is permanent if not treated by age 8 or 9.
