This can usually be done through the local red cross or hospital blood bank. It is called direct donation. The blood bank will still screen your husbands blood for antibodies and so forth. This could take a few days, so we recommend donating 3 to 4 days before you need the blood. (that is to say for surgery). This can be confirmed with your blood bank.
