In brief: Yes

Pain with defecation after hemorrhoid or fissure surgery is common.
Nonetheless, the more you delay, the harder the stool, the more painful it will be to pass stool. Drink plenty of fluids and water, minimize narcotics for pain control, walk as much as possible, take warm baths to keep the anal area clean and sooth the pain.

From one who's been there, you may wish to consult with your doctor about a possible laxative so that the stool passes more easily.
