What happens if someone has a psychotic episode during labor?

Labor & Psychosis. This is a very serious situation, requiring urgent psychiatric consult. I'm assuming this patient has not been in treatment for psychosis previously, and this is an acute episode. Drug screens & other labs to eval the cause. Restraints could be needed. Also IV Haldol (haloperidol) may be helpful -- titrating this carefully & working w/nursing staff & obgyn physicians. Will probably need inpatient care.
Bed Straps. Comfort care, loving support, and bed straps. Most anti-psychotic medications would be contraindicated but there may be some available that I am not aware about. An obstetrician has probably dealt with this situation many times and is best to answer this question.
