Perioral dermatitis. The word ‘perioral’ means ‘around the mouth’ while dermatitis stands for ‘inflammation of the skin’. It is actually an inflammation of the facial skin due to the development of small eruptions around the mouth. It is commonly seen in young women. But it sometimes also affects men. In this condition, you can see papules or tiny red bumps around the lips. There is also a burning sensation.
Reaction. You might benefit from a topical steroid. However, finding out what is causing this will help you to keep it from coming back. Often people keep using something that may actually be causing the problem without knowing. You should have a dermatologist take a look.
