Would strongly recommend getting influenza vaccine, whether or not it is likely to help with this immediate exposure. The other issue is how you know he has influenza. These symptoms can be caused by a variety of viruses. If you begin symptoms, get tested, start tamiflu, (oseltamivir) other antiviral.
