Pain after a microdisectomy should not be severe and often the leg symptoms are gone immediately.
I would recommend nsaids on a regular basis. If you have a tendency to abuse pain medications then they all can trigger that behavior. I might lean more towards tramadol or Nucynta (tapentadol) rather than traditional opioids.
