In brief: Formulation
There are different formulations of Mucinex (guaifenesin) -- one which includes Guaifenesin alone (an expectorant); another called Mucinex (guaifenesin) d, which contains Guaifenesin and Pseudoephedrine (decongestant); and Mucinex (guaifenesin) dm, containing Guaifenesin and dextromethorphan, a cough suppressant.
Guaifenesin and dextromethorphan are ok to use. Pseudoephedrine should not be taken in first trimester.
