Dr. Pedro Hernandez
Internal Medicine - Geriatrics
In brief: Wrist & ankleS
If both sides are affected then it is caused by a generalized disorder like arthritis ( either osteoarthritis, rheumatoid, reactive or other like lupus ).
If it last only few seconds or minutes. It even could be an equivalent for angina ( heart disease). Coexisting carpal tunnel with tarsal tunnel syndrome would be rare.
