In brief: Tobacco
Tobacco hands down because of the lung effect.
In addition to any pharmacological benefit. There are many excellent antidepressant meds that are well tolerated and effective. Also 30 min of exercise can to very good, efa-fish oil can help as well as sometimes a detox diet. Mindfulness and attention to spiritual and other issues of balance are addressed.

In brief: Tobacco vs antidepr
Tobacco wins the "worse" title, hands down.
While nicotine has some + effects on mental energy, appetite and brain aging, the smoke it comes with is killing you, scarring your arteries, and making you ride the "cycle" of addiction, craving, relief, more craving, etc. Anti-depressant meds are safer and better tolerated than ever. Your doctor can help u find one suited best to your goals.
