In brief: Mittelschmerz?

If you are midcycle, a common cause of crampy pain on one side is ovulation - when the egg is released, a small amount of fluid or blood can leak into the pelvis /lower abdomen and cause a crampy pain.
This should go away in 1-2 days. Continued or worsening pain should be evaluated. If you might be pregnant, then crampy pain is worrisome and needs to be evaluated-take a pregnancy test if concerned.
