Why have I got loose stools with no flu symptoms?

Lots of causes. First define the problem (do you have soft or frequent stool?), circumstances under which diarrhea developed (malabsorption, pancreatic maldigestion, food intolerances, stressful times, exposure to ill individuals, food poisoning, ischemic gut, inflammatory colitis, etc.), severity (stool volume, dehydration, blood, night-time awakening, weight loss), & duration. The "cure" depends on diagnosis.

Treat conservatively. 1. Diarrhea without fever, suggests self-limiting nn specific gastroenteritis. Cont. Conservative treatment with a brat diet, slowly advancing to regular diet over the next couple of days. If diarrhea recurs, or fever appears, would suggest office visit and examination, with further testing, including stool cultures and chemistries. Read more...

Time for work up. Your symptoms point towards an inflammatory bowel disease that' s why I would strongly recommend starting with an office visit with your doctor. Read more...

Could nasal/phlegm drainage or too much spicy food or candy cause me to have flu symptoms like diarrhea/fatigue/upset stomach/headache/etc.?

No. The flu is caused by the influenza virus. You catch it from others via infected oral or nasal secretions. If you are immunosuppressed, stressed, or overtired, these things may predispose you to a viral infection. Food and the other things that you mentioned should not predispose you to the flu virus. You can have symptoms that seem like the flu and unrelated due to things you eat. Read more...

The stomach bug.. It is possible that you have the flu, but flu infection often causes pulmonary symptoms in adults, such coughing/wheezes etc.. And more with gastrointestinal symptoms in younger children. Viral gastroenteritis (stomach bug) is more likely the cause of your trouble. Tums/peptobismol and some Motrin may help, along with increase of fluid for couple of days. If worsens, call doc. Good luck. Read more...
