Why do I have red dots at the back of my throat?

Red bumps. Red bumps at the back of the throat should be watched carefully, particularly if they are accompanied by a sore throat and a fever, or if they become white bumps or spots. Usually red bumps there are related to a viral infection of some kind and shouldn't last long. But it's worth knowing some of the causes and how to respond if they appear and then linger for several days.
