Probably IBS. Ibs is characterzied by pain/cramping, altered bowel habits in the absence of specific organic disease. I have had irregular bowel movements, but find laxatives like miralax (polyethylene glycol) do not help and cause bloating and constipation? Why?

Confusing? Maybe you are confusing the cause (constipation=bloating, irregularity) with the effect of miralax, (polyethylene glycol) etc. Which gives easier, more regular bm's. Perhaps insufficient dosing, regular use rather than intermittent use, and other meds you might be on or other medical conditions are also a factor. Review your medications and problems with your doc and i'm sure a regular habit can be created. Read more...

I have bloating and upper abdomen discomfort that causes inner throat discomfort. My bowel movements are regular until a dau ago. What could this be?

Poor digestion. It could be a sign of reflux where the door that closes at the entrance to the stomach is lose. This would allow your stomach acid to get into the esophagus and that would cause bloating and inner throat to be uncomfortable. Betaine plus right before a meal can help this. I would recommend getting the ph level of the stomach done. Read more...
