In brief: Stone or suction?
Was it a hot stone massage? The hot stones can leave red marks which resolve in a day or two.
Or did they apply little jar-like doodads that impart suction to the underlying skin, leaving marks that look like giant hickeys? Those resolve too, but it takes longer, and is somewhat harder to explain to your friends.

May also be an allergy to the cream used during the massage. Ask massage provider to use hypoallergenic cream.
