I have mild headaches, could it be a brain tumor, or is it just stress? How can you tell?

In brief: Medical evaluation
Headaches necessitate a medical evalutation.
They usually are combination of medical and stress related issues. Family mds, internal mds, neurologists or psychiatrists can take a detailed history, evaluate medicines you take, perform a physical and neurological exam, order appropriate tests, and make a diagnosis. . They will refer you to a md or non-md depending on their findings.

In brief: Headaches usually OK
The vast majority of headaches are not due to brain tumors.
In the very rare cases that a headache is being caused by a tumor, there are no reliable ways to tell tale outside of a good history, physical examination and imaging tests, which should be done by your physician. If your headahces wake you up in the middle of the night, they may require more urgent assessment.

In brief: MRI or CT
If the doctor believes the symptoms warrant further investigation a ct or MRI of the brain should be obtained.
Keep in mind that most headaches are benign and not caused by serious illness like brain tumor.

In brief: Not a tumor
Usually headaches related to tumors will produced progressively worse pain that will eventually awaken you at night.
It will also be triggered by exertional activity. If the headaches persist consult your md for a work up. It couuld be attributed to anything from eye strain, neck problems to tooth clenching or many other things.
