In brief: Few days
Few days to a week.
But since most pink eye are due to virus, the tobramycin wont help, and it can last a week or so.

Adenoviral conjunctivitis is also called the 8/8/8 infection, 8 days for onset, 8 days of bad symptoms and 8 day recovery. Very contagious in the first two 8 day periods. Whole class and family can get it, meticulous hygiene needed

In brief: Often makes it worse
I never seen good results with tobramycin.
It is irritating to the eye. It is useful for a contact lens patient until they see an eye md.
