How do you get rid of a mouth cancer?

Radiation, surgery. Local disease is treated with surgery or radiation, with curative intent. Locally advanced disease also gets surgery and radiation, but chemotherapy with Cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil and radiation is as just as good. Recurrent or metastatic disease is treated palliatevely with Cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil or paclitaxel. These patients are often malnourished and have other illnesses.
Discuss with your MD. There are many types of mouth cancers- lip r, oral tongue , base of tongue , hard palate etc. Which one? However, usually with oral cancer- if surgery can be done- surgery is the best then +/- radiation or radiaton and chemo. If surgery can't be done- radiation/chemo would be the option vs radiation only. In advanced stage-chemo is the treatment. Discuss with you doctors. See further- www.Nccn.Com.
3 ways. 3 ways. Resection (cut cancer out). Add radiation therapy (advanced disease), chemotherapy (advanced or incurable disease).
