In brief: Sometimes

An inguinal hernia can be large and extend into the scrotum impinging on the testicle.
On occasions it can also draw the testicle into the inguinal canal and cause discomfort and even pain.

In brief: Yes by complications

Inguinal hernia by itself will not, but a huge untreated incarcerated inguino- scrotal hernia may cause entrapment, also as a rare post operative complication.

But Dr. Rao is correct...this in incredibly rare. I've done over 1500 hernia repairs and haven't seen it even once.
