In brief: Exactly as it sounds

A headache is precisely what it sounds like a pain in the head region.
There are many reasons for a head ache. One could be due to migraines which are associated with blood vessels that pinch those nerves. Other times the headache can be from muscle tension in head or neck region. Sometimes even the cervical spine degeneration can cause headaches or even be associated with brain problems.
