Yes. It is an alternative to oral medications without the side-effects ( esp.Liver damage). Recent studies should at least short term improvement up to 80 % cases.
You can. Laser treatment of fungal nails have an fda indication for the [temporary] improvement of the appearance of the nail in onychomycosis. I don't believe this is covered by insurance, so this is an out of pocket expense of hundreds of dollars per treatment. The results are not immediate, and it can take months for improvement to be noted.
