Tkr may 8. Patella dislocation nov 15. Swelling pain. X-ray kneecap in place. What is problem. What next? Lots medial pain

See your ORS. That is unfortunate! if your knee is well/aligned and u do not have a feeling of 'looseness' in your knee than a strengthening program for your muscles ( quads especially )would be recommended . If it happens again or you feel " unsteady " than see your ors or get another opinion about your tka.. Best of luck!
Depends. If it was a traumatic dislocation (i.e. New injury such as a fall), then appropriate period of rest and then pt should resolve the problem. If it occurred with an injury, then i would be concerned about component rotation (femoral and/or tibial) or delayed healing of the medial arthrotomy (cut in tendon/capsule to get into the knee).

TKR. 52 deg is not good 3 wks post tkr. You need to work harder with pt & on your own to improve motion. No rule, but if you were my patient i would manipulate your knee by 6 wks if not to at least 90 deg. Scar tissue matures & becomes less pliable after 3 months. Read more...

Last resort. You are very young for this type of procedure and it is basically a last resort. There are several other options for your condition depending on the location of your cartilage loss. These options include cartilage restoration (Carticel) with re-alignment of your patella. Would consult with an orthopedic surgeon to discuss this option. Read more...

Hmmmm? Some stiffness is to be expected, however the key question is how you have been treated. Nearly treatment designed to keep the patella reduced has been shown to reduce the risk of recurrence. If you are wearing a stabilizing patella brace, motion can begin a couple weeks after injury. Read more...
