Chris is right, but the question is...why are you concerned. Family tendencies or recent significant life stressors. Self help is a good start, then consider support groups like the 12 steps [they got personality and character development right]. Psychotherapy is an excellent tool for self exploration. Yoga, Tai Chi, Holotropic Breathwork, Healing Breath Technique... are also worthwhile.

Redefine depression or any other uneasiness as an indicator of wonderful things you are desiring, and focus on the joy you would feel when all those wonderful things manifest for you, and let that joy inspire you to faithfully and joyfully hang in there and/or do what you need to do to make the things you desire manifest.
